August 15, 2012 – Fitchburg, Mass. – The TD Charitable Foundation, funded by TD Bank, recently donated $10,000 to Twin Cities Community Development Corporation (CDC) as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.

“We will use this generous grant from the TD Charitable Foundation to build strong neighborhoods and quality, affordable housing through our two latest projects, Fitchburg’s Elm Street Initiative and our newer project in the Comb and Carriage neighborhood of Leominster,” said Marc Dohan, executive director of Twin Cities CDC.

Twin Cities CDC is revitalizing the Elm Street area by rehabbing and building homes in the neighborhood. In Leominster, it is transforming the former Whitney & Company building on the corner of Water and Whitney streets into 40 apartments.

A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® and the TD Charitable Foundation provide financial and other support toward affordable housing initiatives, financial literacy and education, and the environment, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
